Just over three years ago, I walked into the Birth Center’s Mom & Baby group carrying the sweetest baby girl I’d ever known. A bit shaky and tired, but excited to meet other Moms of babies nonetheless. I’m that type of person… needing a village to lean on in times of despair (so many of those in the early months). Over time, as our babies grew and began to poke out the eyes of the newest additions to our fast-growing group, we continued to meet every Saturday at our homes, parks, and meet up at events around town. We’ve spent three years growing, supporting, commiserating, laughing (lots of laughing!!!) together … it’s been quite a ride. We call ourselves “The Saturday Group.”
And so, it was finally time, for us “moms” to enjoy uninterrupted conversations, cards, wine, food, jokes, stories, sleeping, driving, reading, and more laughing. And, it was amazing! Absolutely amazing!
It must be said that there were a few friends we missed terribly who have either moved away since we met or just couldn’t make it this time, but I assure you, THERE WILL BE MANY MORE! So next time, I expect more faces and more days away with some of the best pals a girl could ask for!
And for chuckles, here’s a picture to start this post- all of our babies on a fence. 😉
So cute, eh? And now, a one-day glimpse into our lovely wine country get-away…
