My Film Journey Begins

We took a really long break from our blogging circle and now we’re back at it! Yippee! Two of our members had babies, one of which had twins and I am really looking forward to seeing work from them again on a monthly basis. I always loved grabbing my coffee and spending some of my “me time” looking through the beautiful images from around the world on each of their blogs.

This month I have something I’m excited to share. It’s my first roll of colour film scanned by the lovely people at UK Film Lab. I was so worried I wouldn’t find a good lab here in Europe if I ever decided to try film, so it’s such a nice surprise that not only is there a professional lab, but an amazing one at that!

I’m currently at the tail-end of an online film workshop with Joyce Kang called Embrace the Grain. I still have tons to learn and a great deal of practice, but I was super excited nonetheless to get a few gems back from my first roll.

Please follow along the circle to see all the fantastic images beginning with the lovely Janine Coveney Photography from Tasmania.

melissa - jenna! i’m looking forward to following your film journey along. i think you and film are going to fit together really well. there’s a feeling of immediacy in these which i love (and it’s hard to create that, i think)…you are so good at capturing authenticity. i hope the people in frankfurt see you and ‘get’ your vision…they don’t know what they’re missing! on that note, i also hope you and your beautiful family are settling nicely. big hugs.ReplyCancel

admin - It is dreamy, isn’t it? I feel so nostalgic looking at my scans vs. my digital archives. I don’t even know why, but it makes them feel vintage even if they are only a month old. Thanks for the kind words. I’m excited we’re posting again, too! So much!ReplyCancel
