The girls (my photog pals) and I have been posting together for two years now, and have tried a couple different types of photo challenges to keep our creativity going and our personal work at the forefront of our photographic minds. What seems right for 2015 is going back to our original 10 on 10 blog circle where we post 10 images from the preceding month on the 10th, so this is how we plan to proceed. And, I’m sooooo excited!
Sometimes, I think it’s rather strange to have such close girlfriends that I only know virtually (well, for the most part. I did get lucky enough to meet two of them in the flesh), but our group is pretty special and we have all bonded so much and rely on each other for so many things. We help one another with questions related to motherhood, photography, and have even experienced a few hardships together along the way.
This year I’m feeling grateful to continue on with this amazing group of talented women.
So onto my first post of the year; December is a strange month for us. We have 3 birthdays, Nikolaus, Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Every year, I roll up my sleeves for another exhausting birthday/holiday month. Let’s just say, I looooooove January. It’s my time to breath, reset, refocus and regain my strength until birthday month comes again.
Randomness that I can remember from the December storm:
Logan turned 7.
Chris and I both turned another number in the 30’s.
We got to spend a few hours together sans kids for the first time since May. Rejoicing over here!
Annabelle is the leading prankster in the fam – spends most of her time trying to think of the next way she can punk us.
Logan’s front tooth is dangling from his gums.
Annie is throwing some fun words at us lately, including but not limited to; hate, reasonable, regardless, occasionally.
Annabelle and Logan spent much of the month sick with fever, coughs and vomit. (Another reason I just love December. *rolls eyes violently.)
Logan started reading Harry Potter (hell yeah, now we can talk about it and watch the movie!)
Annabelle learned how to manipulate everyone in the world into doing anything she wants. (I need to take lessons)
We spent 3 weeks off together. That has NEVER happened to us as a family. It has been bliss. I never want it to end. Does it really have to end? Oh, my God! Please, never let it end!
Okay, now some photos. I decided to share 10 images I took of Logan after following him around for about 15 minutes. I love these short little photo essays. It’s just enough time for me to get my camera fix and still not get on his nerves by having a camera pointed at him for too long. Maybe next month I’ll do a little “day in the life” series or something like that.
Now, (if you’re still with me) please go on and follow the circle of greatness, beginning with the lovely Melissa Weicker.
